On the first day of her HFX trial in August 2019, Sherry found the pain relief she’d been searching for since 2003.
While working as a home health care medical assistant, Sherry severely injured her back when lifting a patient. Physical therapy, steroid shots, a disastrous trial with a traditional spinal cord stimulator, high doses of various narcotic pain medications and spinal fusion surgery failed to give Sherry relief from her constant, debilitating pain.
“I was reluctant when Dr. Gabriel Pagani-Estevez suggested an HFX trial because of my previous bad experience, but it was 100% different this time,” Sherry explained. “I felt good right away and it just got better and better each day.”
Since getting her implant that same month Sherry has maintained 85% pain relief and decreased her pain medication by 87%.
“I am living my best life with HFX,” said Sherry, who now sleeps better, walks farther, goes bike riding with her grandson, takes Zumba classes and kayaks. “And decreasing my pain meds is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I am so happy to be fully present for things now.”
