Excruciating Pain from a Work-related Injury Relieved with HFX

Chronic excruciating pain was threatening Leroy’s ability to pursue his life’s passion, Fishing for Freedom, an organization he co-founded in 2009 to provide an annual day of fishing, fun and relaxation for wounded veterans.

In 2003, while working as a commercial electrician, Leroy fell 18 feet from an extension ladder to the concrete floor below causing extensive injuries to his right leg and his back.

After 11 surgeries, he still had severe pain — frequently at a Level 10. Physical therapy, epidurals, joint injections, pain medication, muscle relaxers, knee aspirations, and a low frequency spinal cord stimulator failed to provide lasting relief.

In February 2016, Dr. James Snowcroft recommended an HFX trial, which led to an April 2016 implant that has reduced Leroy’s pain by 70%.

“HFX gave me my life back,” Leroy said, who now has no worries about being in too much pain to manage his boat.  He is once again able to work tirelessly throughout the year to raise money and awareness for Fishing for Freedom and this year 200 veterans will be enjoying a day of fishing with some of the best bass anglers in the country as a result.
