Thanks to HFX, Al No Longer Depends on Pain Medication for Pain Relief

HFX has not only relieved the chronic back pain Al suffered with for five years, but it has given him back his golf game.

In fact, less than three months after receiving his permanent HFX implant, Al shot his lowest round ever at his 50th high school reunion.

“At age 68, I shot a 68 and won the reunion tournament,” Al recalled with pleasure.

Al’s back problems began when he was a young man playing high school football and got worse when, as a Marine serving in Vietnam, he carried heavy loads while parachuting out of helicopters.

“I am back to playing golf with my wife three or four times a week.”

In 2007, Al had spinal fusion surgery but by 2012 his pain had returned.
Al was considering another surgery when Dr. Nicholas Scott suggested he participate in an HFX trial.

When the trial delivered meaningful pain relief, Al opted for a permanent implant instead of surgery.

“I am back to playing golf with my wife three or four times a week – something I never thought I would be able to do again,” said Al, who also pointed out that he no longer takes any pain meds and is doing home improvement projects that would have been out of the question prior to his implant.
